Dangote Refinery reduces fuel price
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), with the new rates set to take effect from Thursday, August 6.
The company said the adjustment is part of its plan to make refined petroleum products more affordable for Nigerians and support business activities across the country.
The announcement was made on Wednesday as the refinery unveiled a fresh pricing structure for its products.
Under the new rates, the ex-depot price of petrol has dropped from ₦1,215 per litre to ₦1,165 per litre, representing a decrease of ₦50 per litre.
Diesel has also been reduced from ₦1,650 per litre to ₦1,570 per litre, bringing the price down by ₦80 per litre.
According to the refinery, the latest price review is aimed at improving access to refined petroleum products while helping to reduce the cost of energy for consumers and businesses.
It added that the move is also expected to support economic activities in different parts of the country.
The company said it remains focused on maintaining a steady supply of petroleum products while improving its operations to deliver better value to customers, marketers and other stakeholders.
Dangote Refinery also stated that it will continue to play its role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy sector by increasing local refining capacity and reducing dependence on imported fuel.
It added that its operations are contributing to the country’s economic growth through the supply of refined petroleum products produced to international standards.
The refinery further said it would continue to pass the gains from improved operational efficiency to consumers whenever market conditions make such reductions possible.
