Super Falcons’ standout goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been nominated for FIFA’s “The Best” Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, recognizing her remarkable performances for both club and country in 2025.
According to FIFA, the Nigerian shot-stopper was shortlisted for her outstanding displays between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025.

“The Nigerian was magnificent as Paris FC stunned Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final, keeping a clean sheet and then denying two penalties in the shootout,” FIFA wrote about the Brighton goalkeeper.
“Nnadozie also kept four shutouts in six games as the Super Falcons sunk Morocco in Rabat to reclaim the WAFCON title.”
Internationally, Nnadozie played a pivotal role in helping Nigeria clinch the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for a record 10th time. She featured in all six matches, conceding only three goals—two in open play during the final—as the Super Falcons claimed victory in Morocco earlier this year.

The goalkeeper’s consistent brilliance saw her keep four clean sheets in the tournament, earning widespread praise from football analysts and fans alike.
Other nominees for FIFA’s “The Best” Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year include Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany), Cata Coll (Spain), Christiane Endler (Chile), Hannah Hampton (England), Anna Moorhouse (England), and Phallon Tullis-Joyce (USA).

Nnadozie’s inclusion on the FIFA shortlist adds to her growing list of accolades. The 24-year-old was also a contender for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or, where she finished fourth. Additionally, she is in the running to secure her third consecutive CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
