Arsenal have officially confirmed their squad numbers for the 2026/27 Premier League season, giving fans their first look at how Mikel Arteta’s title-winning squad will be numbered as the Gunners begin defending the crown they reclaimed after more than two decades.
The headline confirmation centers on Bruno Guimaraes, whose big-money arrival from Newcastle United was one of the defining pieces of Arsenal’s summer business. The Brazilian midfielder has been handed the number 39 shirt for his first campaign at the Emirates.
Elsewhere, winger Christos Tzolis, signed from Club Brugge, has taken the number 17 jersey, a shirt with recent history at the club having been most recently worn by Oleksandr Zinchenko before his departure.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who joined on a free transfer, has been given the number 30, last associated with Raheem Sterling during the 2024/25 season.
The confirmations came alongside the club’s full list of squad numbers, with David Raya continuing in goal wearing number 1, backed up by Kepa Arrizabalaga (13) and now Meslier (30).
Piero Hincapie, whose loan move from Bayer Leverkusen has been made permanent, wears number 5, while Cristhian Mosquera continues in number 3. Eberechi Eze has been handed the number 10 shirt, and Viktor Gyokeres retains number 14.
Further down the list, Martin Zubimendi wears 36, Declan Rice remains in 41, and academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly keeps hold of number 49.
The departures of Jakub Kiwior, Christian Norgaard, and Leandro Trossard have left numbers 15, 16, and 19 vacant, with 18 also currently unclaimed numbers that could yet be taken up should Arteta’s side make any further additions before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal begin their Premier League title defence this weekend against newly promoted Coventry City, having already picked up the Community Shield with a win over Manchester City.
