Arsenal are reportedly planning a summer transfer bid of around £65 million to sign Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve.
The North London club is said to be preparing to trigger Osimhen’s release clause by placing a €75 million (£61 million) offer to secure the Nigerian striker. Osimhen has been in impressive formthis season, recording 27 goal contributions (22 goals and five assists) across all competitions.
The 26-year-old forward continued his strong performances over the weekend, scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa.
Osimhen was heavily linked with a move last summer, with Chelsea coming closest to sealing a deal before negotiations fell through.
Manchester United have also expressed interest, but Arsenal appear keen to move quickly to beat other suitors, including Juventus, in the race for his signature.
According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Arsenal are making moves to hijack Manchester United’s bid for the Nigerian star.
With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz struggling with injuries, Mikel Arteta is prioritizing a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window. Arsenal, having faced a striker crisis in the second half of the 2024/25 season, see Osimhen as a reliable goal-scoring option to strengthen their attack for the upcoming campaign.
