Businessman Jerry Olarenwaju has urged Nigerian security agencies to collaborate with the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) program to ensure safer operations for agricultural stakeholders.

Speaking on a television program on Wednesday, Olarenwaju emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the military, and other relevant units. “This partnership will instill confidence, allowing farmers and processors to operate without fear of disruptions,” he said.

The SAPZ initiative, designed to elevate rural incomes, create opportunities for youth and women, and bolster Nigeria’s food security, recently marked a milestone with the launch of its first site in Kaduna State on April 9, 2025. African Development Bank (AfDB) President Akinwunmi Adesina attended the event, reinforcing the program’s alignment with broader economic development goals.

Olarenwaju underlined the initiative’s potential to strengthen agricultural value chains and generate over 60,000 jobs nationwide. I aim to employ at least 10 to 100 individuals directly, he added, underscoring the project’s capacity to drive local employment.
