Nigerian international goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor has completed a move to Crystal Palace Women, signing a two-year contract with the Women’s Super League club, confirmed in a statement released late Thursday.
Announcing the arrival on its official website, the club wrote it was “delighted to announce the signing of Nigeria international goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor,” ending speculation over the shot-stopper’s next destination following her exit from Portsmouth.
Erhabor, 21, could hardly contain her enthusiasm at the switch, telling the club’s media team the move represented a significant milestone. “It feels really good to be here. I’m very excited to get started,” she said. “I’m aspiring to play at the highest level, so this is a really big step in my career.”
Palace manager Jo Potter was equally effusive about the capture, describing the young shot-stopper as a rising talent within the women’s game. “Comfort is a promising young goalkeeper, and we are thrilled to have her here at Palace,” Potter said in the statement confirming the deal.
Erhabor arrives at Selhurst Park having spent just one season with Portsmouth, whom she joined in July 2025 from the English Women’s Super League 2 side, making six appearances across all competitions before her switch to Palace.
Her journey through England’s academy pathway began at Brighton & Hove Albion, where she came through the club’s development ranks before senior loan spells away from the south coast. She undertook loan spells at Hibernian in Scotland and Plymouth Argyle in England to sharpen her game before eventually sealing her move to Fratton Park.
Though born in the Netherlands and raised in England, Erhabor’s international allegiance ultimately lay with Nigeria the homeland of her parents. Born to Nigerian parents and raised in England, she made the switch to represent the Super Falcons, capping a long-held family ambition.
That decision paid off with her senior international debut in February 2026, when she featured in a friendly against Cameroon as Nigeria ramped up preparations for that year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The call-up came after Erhabor had already represented Nigeria at the junior level, having previously turned out for the Flamingos at the Under-17 and Under-20 stages.
Erhabor subsequently made the Super Falcons’ squad for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco, though game time proved elusive. She did not feature in a single minute as the 10-time African champions were eliminated in the quarter-finals by eventual tournament winners Cameroon.
Her move to Palace continues a growing trend of Nigerian internationals crossing over into English women’s football. Erhabor becomes the latest Super Falcons player to make the switch, following defender Rofiat Imuran’s transfer to Aston Villa Women ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 22-year-old Imuran joined Villa from London City Lionesses, adding to a career path that began in France with Stade de Reims underlining the increasingly well-trodden route Nigerian talent is taking through European women’s football before arriving in England’s top flight.
With her move now confirmed, attention turns to how soon Potter intends to integrate Erhabor into Palace’s first-team plans and whether she can force her way into contention for a starting berth as the WSL season progresses.
