Ronaldo and Georgina’s Marriage Contract Details Revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo has married Georgina Rodríguez in a wedding that was everything his career isn’t: quiet, private, and shielded from the cameras that have followed him for two decades.

The couple was married on Tuesday in Cascais, the seaside resort town roughly 30 kilometers west of Lisbon, rather than in the Portuguese capital itself or on Ronaldo’s native Madeira, both of which had been floated for weeks by Portuguese outlets as likely venues.

Jornal da Madeira had reported the wedding would take place at Funchal Cathedral, a rumour strong enough that crowds gathered outside the cathedral the previous weekend hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple, only for the ceremony to happen elsewhere.

In the end, the couple’s representatives at the Brunswick Group confirmed the marriage had taken place in Cascais in a ceremony they described only as private and intimate, attended by the couple’s five children.

The civil ceremony itself was brief and family-centered. It began at 1:30pm and was attended by the five children along with four official witnesses named on the marriage certificate, among them Georgina’s sister Ivana Rodríguez and Miguel José, a friend Ronaldo has known since their youth playing for Sporting Lisbon.

Confirmation came not from a press statement but from the couple themselves: both posted the same image on Instagram, showing their intertwined hands and matching wedding bands, alongside a caption reading simply “C ♥ G.”

The financial architecture behind the wedding had, notably, been settled two days earlier. According to reporting from Jornal de Notícias, Ronaldo and Georgina attended a public notary’s office in Lisbon on August 10 to sign a prenuptial-style agreement establishing separação de bens, separation of assets, the marital regime under Portuguese law that keeps property acquired before the marriage and typically income derived from it in the sole ownership of whichever partner already held it.

For a couple whose combined fortune runs into the hundreds of millions of euros, built respectively from Ronaldo’s playing career, endorsement empire and stake in the CR7 brand, and Georgina’s modelling, fashion ventures and Netflix profile, the arrangement draws a clear legal line between what each brought into the marriage and whatever the two build together going forward.

The same paperwork trail offered an unusually granular look at two people who otherwise guard their privacy fiercely. The published marriage certificate listed Ronaldo’s full name, age, and birthplace, Madeira, where he was born 41 years ago, along with the names of his parents.

Georgina, 32, was recorded as having been born in Buenos Aires. Both are expected to keep their own surnames rather than either adopting the other’s, a common choice under Portuguese and Spanish naming conventions.

The ceremony was conducted by registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira, who travelled from Porto for the occasion.

The wedding closes out a relationship that stretches back almost a decade. The couple met in Madrid, where Georgina was working at a Gucci store, and Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.

They have three children together: a daughter born in 2017 and twins born in 2022, one of whom died shortly after birth alongside Ronaldo’s three children from previous relationships, making five in total.

Rodríguez announced their engagement in August 2025, sharing a photograph of the ring on Instagram; the wedding fell almost exactly one year later.

For Ronaldo, now playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr after a decorated career that took him to Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, the marriage arrives at a natural pause point shortly after his final World Cup campaign with Portugal this summer.

For Georgina, who built her own public profile through the Netflix docuseries “I Am Georgina,” it marks the formal conclusion of a relationship that has played out largely in public even as the couple worked, evidently, to keep its final chapter as private as their fame would allow.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

After nearly a decade together, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are married, but the real story behind the headline is the paperwork, not the ceremony.

Two days before their quiet Cascais wedding, the couple signed a Portuguese “separation of assets” agreement, legally keeping everything each of them owned beforehand under individual control.

In a relationship built on hundreds of millions of euros in combined wealth, that prenup-style contract, more than the private vows themselves, is the detail that actually protects their futures.
