The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to state commands and key police formations across Nigeria.
The deployment was approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the exercise is aimed at improving police operations, strengthening leadership in commands and formations, and supporting the ongoing reforms of the Nigeria Police Force.
The newly deployed Commissioners of Police to state commands are:
- Abia – CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo
- Plateau – CP Ayodeji Faniyan
- Bayelsa – CP Saka Adewale Ajao
- Cross River – CP Ajo Geofrey Ordue
- Anambra – CP Nanna Oji Ama
- Edo – CP Patrick Daaor
- Jigawa – CP Tani Murtala
- Delta – CP Samuel Erale

IGP Disu directed the affected senior officers to use their experience in their new roles by improving intelligence-led policing, increasing operational efficiency, promoting professionalism, and strengthening community engagement across the country.
He also urged them to remain committed to protecting lives and property while maintaining discipline, accountability, and quality service.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to strategic personnel deployments as a key component of its ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening internal capacity, and delivering more effective policing services to all Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
