TikTok Stars Peller and Jarvis Officially Married in Grand Ceremony

Lekki, Lagos State, came alive with colour, music and celebrity glamour on Saturday as TikTok stars Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja (Peller) and Amadou Elizabeth Aminata (Jarvis) sealed their romance with a vibrant traditional wedding, capping weeks of public courtship that had Nigeria’s digital audience captivated.

The event, steeped in Edo culture, saw the newlyweds honor Jarvis’s Benin heritage with striking attire befitting royalty.

Their outfits celebrated Edo tradition through rich fabrics, coral beadwork, and symbolic Benin-inspired details, with the bride donning a sheer red veil layered over a coral Okuku crown, while the groom appeared in a stately burgundy ceremonial robe.

It was, by every account, the emotional and visual high point of a wedding journey that has played out largely in the full glare of social media.

Long before Saturday’s festivities, the courtship of “PJ,” as fans have christened them, had already become something of a national spectacle.

Their road to the altar began in June when Peller proposed at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, before the pair travelled to Benin City, Edo State, for the traditional introduction and payment of the bride price.

That proposal, delivered on a beach in Ghana, sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s online community and quickly became one of the year’s most-replayed viral clips.

Weeks later, the pair took the next formal step toward marriage. According to BellaNaija, the civil wedding is held on Wednesday, July 29, in Lagos, just days ahead of the grand white wedding ceremony scheduled for August 1, 2026.

At that ceremony, held at a registry in Ikoyi, the couple were pictured proudly holding up their marriage certificate as close family and associates looked on, according to Gistlover.

It was during this civil ceremony that Peller offered one of the more lighthearted moments of the entire saga, drawing laughter from onlookers after the marriage registrar solemnly warned that bigamy carries a minimum five-year prison term with no option of a fine, a moment that quickly made its way onto timelines nationwide.

By Saturday, all roads led to Lekki, where several celebrities, social media influencers, and digital content creators gathered as preparations for the couple’s white wedding reached their peak, cementing the event’s status as one of the most closely watched influencer unions of the year.

Online, the hashtag “#JP2026” trended steadily throughout the build-up, according to The Nation, as fans traded predictions, styled outfits, and countdown clips in anticipation of the big day.

Sharing the news with their combined millions of followers, the couple posted a joint message reflecting on the significance of the day, describing it as the moment two families and two tribes became one, with forever now begun.

The traditional ceremony followed swiftly on the heels of the civil wedding, continuing a carefully choreographed rollout that has seen Peller and Jarvis document practically every milestone of their relationship from proposal to bride price to registry to reception for an audience that has followed along in real time.

Peller and Jarvis are no strangers to viral fame. The pair rose to national prominence on TikTok through comedy skits, pranks, and relationship-centered livestreams that routinely attract millions of views. That same online chemistry, commentators note, has now matured into one of the most publicly chronicled relationships in Nigeria’s creator economy, a fact not lost on industry watchers who see the wedding as symbolic of a broader shift.

One report observed that by moving their digital connection into a legal partnership, the couple are showing how internet personalities have grown to rival the cultural pull of traditional celebrities.

Their relationship has not been entirely free of turbulence. The Nation reported that the pair briefly split over privacy concerns at one point, with Peller having once publicly stated he would not marry a Nigerian, comments that stirred debate among fans before the relationship ultimately blossomed into an engagement.

Jarvis herself added a memorable, tongue-in-cheek note to the fidelity conversation during a recent podcast appearance, insisting that infidelity would simply not be tolerated under the rules of their relationship.

Ahead of the big day, Peller also revealed on a livestream that the newlyweds intend to celebrate their honeymoon in style, with plans to visit as many as eight countries.

He had earlier disclosed attending private traditional pre-marriage counselling sessions in Ikorodu, saying he wanted to better understand how to care for his bride and grow into the role of a responsible husband.

With the traditional rites now completed in Lekki, following the June introduction in Benin City and the July civil registry wedding in Ikoyi, Peller and Jarvis have effectively closed out a three-act wedding season that many say has redefined what a modern Nigerian celebrity wedding looks like: equal parts cultural ceremony and digital-first content event.

As the newlyweds prepare to jet off on their multi-country honeymoon, fans and fellow content creators across the country continue to flood social media with congratulatory messages, marking the end of one very public courtship and the beginning of what the couple themselves have called their forever.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Peller and Jarvis’s wedding wasn’t just a personal milestone; it was a masterclass in modern influencer branding.

By turning every stage of their romance (proposal, bride price, civil wedding, and traditional ceremony) into shareable public content, the couple transformed a private relationship into a nationwide event, reinforcing how deeply intertwined personal life and digital fame have become in Nigeria’s creator economy.

In today’s Nigeria, a wedding can be both a sacred cultural rite and a full-scale media production, and Peller and Jarvis proved you can have both without losing the emotional core of “forever.”
