The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has praised Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing her as one of the most influential lawmakers to have emerged from the state since 1999.

Gambo made the remarks on Friday in Lokoja while hosting a delegation of PDP members, where he also called on constituents in Kogi Central to support the senator’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

He characterised Akpoti-Uduaghan as a “rare breed politician,” stating that her leadership style has significantly improved both the visibility and developmental outlook of the state.

According to him, the senator has remained loyal to the party while consistently strengthening PDP structures across Kogi State through active engagement and support.

“She has displayed leadership qualities in an unprecedented manner. When she speaks, members listen. She is our leader at the state level, and we are proud of her stewardship,” he said.

Gambo further noted that her performance in the 10th National Assembly has set her apart within a short period, adding that her representation has brought Kogi Central into national prominence.

“She is the best Senator Kogi has ever had since 1999. She is a winning team, and we cannot afford to change a winning team. Another term for Sen. Natasha will be for consolidation and greater impact,” he stated.

The PDP chairman also drew attention to several empowerment initiatives facilitated by the senator, including support programmes for widows, young people, and small business owners. He mentioned the distribution of vehicles, tools, and educational materials as part of her outreach efforts.

He added that her development-focused projects have contributed to her growing popularity throughout the senatorial district.

“Her name is now a household name across Kogi Central. Her record is unblemished, and no one can fault her integrity. She has built schools, constructed roads, and upgraded markets with a class and vision that is difficult to match in just two years,” Gambo added.

Gambo concluded by urging party faithful to remain united in backing the senator, describing her as a key figure capable of fostering unity and sustaining the PDP’s strength in the state.

Such public backing from party leadership is often crucial in shaping voter perception and consolidating grassroots support. Her highlighted achievements, particularly in empowerment and infrastructure, are central to building a re-election narrative.

The statement also signals efforts within the PDP to maintain unity and strengthen internal structures in Kogi State.
