The Labour Party Nigeria has announced the composition of chairmen and members of its electoral subcommittees as part of preparations for its upcoming nationwide congresses.
In a statement released on Tuesday and signed by Ken Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser on Media to the Interim National Chairman, the party confirmed that the committees have been set up to supervise the ward, local government, and state congresses across the country.

According to the timetable, ward congresses will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, followed by local government congresses on Friday, April 24, while state congresses are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The party explained that the subcommittees consist of experienced and well-regarded members tasked with ensuring the smooth and credible conduct of the exercises in their assigned states.
The list of appointed chairmen includes Hon. Iheanacho Obioma (Abia), Francis Kim (Adamawa), Ekong Philip Solomon (Akwa Ibom), Chief Tony Asuoha (Anambra), Malam Mustapha Adamu (Bauchi), Beredugo Ebimonyo (Bayelsa), Chief John A. A. Ochoga (Benue), Comrade Buratai (Borno), Urom P. Iyang (Cross River), Hon. Chuks Onitsha (Delta), Chief Mitchell Nwabueze (Ebonyi), Comrade Dr. Saliu Edogiawerie (Edo), Comrade Usman Mohammed (Niger), Owolabi Ezekiel (Ogun), Charles Afolabi (Ondo), Balogun Ibrahim (Osun), Babatunde Yusuf (Oyo), Fakorede Matthew (Ekiti), Dr. David Ogba (Enugu), Comrade Adoga S. In a message addressed to members of the committees, the party’s National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, urged them to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, transparency, and integrity, highlighting the importance of upholding the party’s foundational values.
She emphasised that they must remain guided by the principles of “equal opportunity and social justice”, stressing that the credibility of the party must be preserved throughout the congress process.

The party also reiterated that its National Convention is slated for Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, expressing confidence that all logistics have been adequately arranged to ensure a seamless and successful event.
