The Nigerian Presidency has dismissed a viral report claiming that a chef at the Presidential Villa in Abuja was arrested for attempting to poison President Bola Tinubu.

The story circulated online over the weekend and included a video that appeared to show scenes from the villa, with a narrator saying a member of the kitchen staff was detained due to a supposed plot on the President’s life.

The video alleged that authorities acted quickly after receiving information about suspicious activities related to food preparation in restricted areas.

It also implied that a special police team was involved and that security around the presidential environment was increased as a result.

In response to the claims, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the reports were false.

He clarified that no kitchen staff had been arrested and that there was no attempt to harm the President through poisoning.

Other aides of the President also confirmed that the viral report lacked credible sources and urged the public to ignore the online content.

The Presidency assured citizens that President Tinubu remains safe and continues his official duties without any threat from the alleged incident.

Officials warned that spreading unverified reports can create unnecessary panic and confusion.
