The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, has advised Corps Members to remain patient, diligent, and perseverant in their pursuit of success, warning against shortcuts in achieving their future ambitions.

Addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members at the Plateau State Temporary Orientation Camp in Doi-Du, Jos, and the Bauchi State Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, General Ahmed emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience in attaining success.

He encouraged Corps Members to take advantage of the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to acquire vocational skills that would empower them financially and enable them to become job creators. He further stressed the significance of post-camp training as a crucial step toward sustainable self-reliance.

Additionally, he urged them to use their service year to foster national unity and contribute positively to their host communities.

In their reports, the NYSC Plateau State Coordinator, Mr. Jonathan Yavala, and the Bauchi State Coordinator, Mrs. Rifkatu Daniel, informed the Director-General that Corps Members had settled into camp life with enthusiasm and patriotism. A total of 1,957 Corps Members were registered in Plateau State, while Bauchi State recorded 1,641 participants, all demonstrating commitment to the objectives of the Orientation Course.
