The Oritsuwa of Warri Kingdom, Godday Erewa, has dismissed allegations linking the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering.

A recent report accused a company chaired by the Delta State monarch of engaging in illegal activities, but Erewa described the claims as baseless and unfounded.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Erewa insisted that the Olu of Warri has never participated in any illegal dealings and remains committed to the development of the Warri Kingdom and the Niger Delta region.

He condemned the timing of the allegations, stating they were a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the monarch’s reputation.

“The Olu’s longstanding commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and environmental sustainability in the region is undeniable,” he added.

Erewa urged Nigerians to disregard the claims, emphasizing that the monarch remains a symbol of peace, economic progress, and security.

“For the record, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III is a visionary leader dedicated to the prosperity of his people. His leadership has brought remarkable socio-economic transformation to Warri Kingdom and beyond,” the statement read.
