The Katsina State Government has declared its readiness to host Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday for the inauguration of major developmental projects initiated by Governor Dikko Radda’s administration.
During a press briefing at the Government House Press Centre on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango, revealed that the visit would feature the launch of the 9th Expanded National MSME Clinic and the commissioning of the Kofar Marusa Road Dualisation Project.

He further disclosed that the Vice President will unveil the Katsina Sustainable Platform for Agriculture (KASPA), a digital system aimed at connecting thousands of farmers across the state.
Zango was joined by the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Kabir Ingawa; the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ahmad Bakori; and the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Aisha Malumfashi.
In her remarks, Malumfashi described the Vice President’s forthcoming visit as a “defining moment” in Katsina’s quest for economic diversification and youth empowerment.
She explained that the MSME Clinic, set for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, would bring together entrepreneurs, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions for exhibitions, mentorship, and direct business support.

According to her, the event will also feature the inaugural Katsina MSME Awards Night, where Vice President Shettima and Governor Radda will recognise outstanding entrepreneurs who have demonstrated resilience and innovation despite economic headwinds.
Speaking on infrastructure, Ingawa announced that the Vice President will commission the newly completed 3.3-kilometre dual carriageway linking the Central Mosque Roundabout to Kiddies Roundabout via WTC Road.
He noted that the ₦1.9 billion project is equipped with solar-powered streetlights, pedestrian walkways, and modern drainage systems, designed to improve mobility and enhance the city’s visual appeal.
“This road is more than infrastructure; it’s an enabler of trade,” Ingawa said. “It will ease movement, reduce travel time, and support night-time business operations through solar lighting.”

In the same vein, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ahmad Bakori, revealed that the Vice President would also unveil KASPA, a digital agricultural platform aimed at connecting farmers to experts, input suppliers, and markets across all 34 local government areas.
Bakori described KASPA as “a revolutionary bridge” that will transform communication within the agricultural sector, strengthen food production, and boost farmers’ incomes.
He added that the government has launched complementary initiatives, including a Farmers’ Radio Station and an e-extension network to provide real-time expert guidance and agricultural support.
“With just a phone, a farmer can access advice, buy quality seeds, and sell produce directly to buyers. This is a major step towards digital farming and food security,” Bakori stated.
In preparation for the Vice President’s visit, Katsina will also hold the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Dikko Social Innovation Academy. This youth-driven initiative trains young social entrepreneurs to design sustainable solutions to local community challenges.
