In Nigeria, preparations for his final rites continue, with the Federal Government having declared Tuesday, July 15, a public holiday in his honor. Additionally, national flags are flying at half-mast across all government buildings, military institutions, and foreign missions to signify a period of official mourning.

Buhari’s remains arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday morning, with his burial scheduled for later in the day in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites. The funeral is expected to draw dignitaries from across the globe, and tributes have poured in from international leaders recognizing Buhari’s influence not only in Nigeria but throughout Africa and beyond.
