Tottenham Hotspur have completed the high-profile signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and are on the verge of finalising a move for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, in a summer spending spree exceeding £100 million ($136 million).
The double swoop marks a bold opening statement from new manager Thomas Frank, who succeeded Ange Postecoglou last month.
Kudus becomes the first player in over a decade to make the switch from the Hammers to their London rivals, with reports placing the deal at £55 million. Tottenham have also activated a £60 million release clause in Gibbs-White’s contract, setting the stage for his imminent arrival.
This aggressive transfer activity heralds a fresh chapter for the North London club as Frank sets about reshaping the squad. Despite Postecoglou delivering a historic Europa League title—Tottenham’s first silverware in 17 years—and securing Champions League qualification by defeating Manchester United in the final, club executives opted for a managerial change to better align with long-term strategic goals.
For Kudus, the allure of competing in the Champions League and the opportunity to work under Frank were decisive in his choice to join Spurs.
“I have always wanted to play at the highest level,” the Ghanaian international told the club’s official website. “How big the club is, the history, and the Champions League as well — it is a big moment. I am finally here and am very happy. I can’t wait to start.”
Kudus highlighted Frank’s reputation for nurturing talent as a key influence on his decision. “The most important part of why I came here is the project and how the manager sees that I can develop under him. I have seen the amount of talent he has developed to become great players, and that is a big sign of why I wanted to work under him as well,” he added.
The 23-year-old forward joined West Ham from Ajax for £38 million in 2023 and has since notched 19 goals in 80 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a dynamic presence in the Premier League.

Gibbs-White, meanwhile, is expected to complete his move shortly after Spurs triggered the clause in his contract. The 24-year-old playmaker had previously been linked with Manchester City and delivered a standout campaign for Forest, tallying seven goals and ten assists in 34 Premier League matches—performances that earned him senior England call-ups from both Lee Carsley and Thomas Tuchel.
His anticipated departure follows closely on the heels of Anthony Elanga’s transfer to Newcastle United for £55 million, leaving a notable gap in Forest’s attacking setup.
Gibbs-White originally joined Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2022 for an initial £25 million, with performance-related add-ons bringing the total to a potential £42.5 million. His rapid rise since then has made him one of the Premier League’s most coveted young English talents.
With Kudus officially signed and Gibbs-White poised to join, Thomas Frank’s Tottenham rebuild is well underway. The club is clearly signalling its ambition to challenge at the highest level in both domestic and European competitions.
