President Bola Tinubu will travel to Kaduna State on Friday, September 19, where he is expected to visit Aisha, widow of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, at the family residence.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the trip in a statement on Thursday.

During his visit, Tinubu will also attend the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara West, who is marrying Safiyya Shehu Idris.
The President will return to Abuja later on the same day after completing his engagements.

Buhari, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, died in London on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness. His death drew nationwide tributes, and Tinubu declared seven days of mourning, ordering national flags flown at half-mast.

The late former president was buried on July 15 in Daura, Katsina State, according to Muslim rites. Buhari had previously served as Nigeria’s military ruler from 1983 to 1985 before returning as a democratically elected president three decades later.
