President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the occasion of his 60th birthday, commending his unwavering commitment to the development of Lagos State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Sanwo-Olu as a devoted public servant who has remained true to the vision of transforming Lagos into a modern, efficient, and inclusive city.

Tinubu highlighted the governor’s achievements, particularly the successful completion of the Blue and Red Rail lines, and commended ongoing preparations for the Purple Line, which is expected to serve the rapidly growing Lekki corridor.

“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Blue and Red Rail lines and the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line,” Tinubu said.

He further encouraged the governor to maintain the momentum by prioritising critical infrastructure projects such as the long-anticipated Fourth Mainland Bridge and the expansion of Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC).

The President also expressed his best wishes to Sanwo-Olu, praying for his continued good health and more years of dedicated service to Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

The statement also reflected on Sanwo-Olu’s political journey, noting that he began his public service career under Tinubu’s mentorship. Over the years, Sanwo-Olu has held several key positions in Lagos State, including serving as a Commissioner in multiple ministries and as the Managing Director of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSDPC).
