President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Bola Oyebamiji, following his emergence as the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.
The President’s message was conveyed in a statement released on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. In the statement, Tinubu commended the Osun State chapter of the APC for demonstrating unity, maturity, and reconciliation in the build-up to the party’s primary election, which culminated in an affirmation process.
According to the President, the peaceful manner in which the primary was conducted reflected the party’s growing internal cohesion and commitment to collective progress. He also praised other aspirants who withdrew their ambitions in support of Oyebamiji, describing their actions as a strong display of party loyalty and shared belief in the APC’s ideals.

Tinubu urged Oyebamiji to carry himself with humility in victory, encouraging him to reach out to party elders, leaders, and former aspirants to foster inclusiveness and strengthen internal harmony as the campaign season approaches.
“The journey to reclaim Osun State for the progressive fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun.
“I urge all members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute. Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” the President said.
Oyebamiji was officially declared the winner of the party’s primary election held on Saturday in Osogbo. The process was overseen by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who chaired the primary, where party delegates unanimously affirmed Oyebamiji as the APC’s candidate for the forthcoming election.
The President expressed optimism that with sustained unity and strategic engagement, the APC would be well-positioned to reclaim Osun State in 2026.
