Paris Saint-Germain have bolstered their attack with the acquisition of Nigerian international Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has signed a contract that will keep her at the French club until June 30, 2027.

The French giants confirmed the transfer in an official statement on Tuesday, saying, “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027.”

Ajibade, born on December 8, 1999, in the Mushin area of Lagos, makes the switch from Atlético de Madrid, where she has been a key player since 2021. Before her spell in Spain, she spent two years in Norway with Avaldsnes IL, establishing herself as a versatile and dynamic forward.

During the 2024–25 season with Atlético, the 25-year-old featured in 25 matches, registering eight goals and three assists. Her impressive performances have not only earned her recognition at club level but also elevated her standing on the international stage.

Ajibade’s career took off at FC Robo Queens in Nigeria, where her exceptional talent earned her the Nigeria Football Federation’s Young Player of the Year award in 2018. Since then, she has risen to captain the Super Falcons, leading the team to two Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs in 2018 and 2024.

Her international résumé also includes pivotal roles in global tournaments such as the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With over 30 international caps already, Ajibade has cemented herself as a cornerstone of Nigerian women’s football.

Speaking on her move to Paris, Ajibade expressed excitement and determination: “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

Her arrival is expected to further strengthen PSG’s attacking options as the club continues its push for domestic and European success.
