Her visit comes amid a series of high-level engagements during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

On Wednesday, the First Lady and the President met King Charles III and Queen Camilla. They were received earlier by Prince William and Catherine, who accompanied them to Windsor Castle.

King Charles later hosted a state banquet in honour of the Nigerian leader and his wife.

Nigeria and the UK continue to maintain strong ties in trade, aid, and defence, with London remaining home to a large Nigerian diaspora.

What you should know

Oluremi Tinubu’s engagement at Lambeth Palace highlights the role of faith-based diplomacy in strengthening Nigeria–UK relations.

Meetings with senior Church of England figures reflect ongoing collaboration between religious institutions in both countries.

The broader state visit also reinforces long-standing bilateral ties in governance, security, and economic cooperation, while showcasing the influence of Nigerians in the UK across different sectors.
