Nollywood Actress Evan Okoro Alleges Life Threats from Estranged Husband

Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has made serious public allegations against her estranged husband, Chibuzor Erifike, claiming he has threatened to kill her if she leaves their marriage.

The actress took to social media to share her fears about her husband’s increasingly domineering and hostile behavior, marking a dramatic turn in what appears to be a troubled marriage that began earlier this year.

In emotional social media posts that have since gone viral, Okoro detailed the breakdown of her relationship, stating, “This marriage is not working. The shoe I took home is not my size. When he came, I thought it was love.”

The actress has made several serious allegations against Erifike, including financial demands and controlling behavior. According to Okoro, her husband would demand money from her business ventures and become aggressive when she refused, citing an incident where he wanted payment from a Lagos advertisement job.

Beyond financial disputes, Okoro described a relationship lacking emotional connection and intimacy, claiming that attempts to involve Erifike’s family in resolving their issues yielded no positive results.

Perhaps most concerning are the actress’s allegations regarding her safety. She expressed particular worry over her husband’s jealousy after she shared photos of her newly built home on social media, alleging she has filed a petition with the police citing disturbing dreams and rumors of potential harm.

In the viral video, Okoro revealed that her husband was at the police station following her petition as she made her public plea for help.

The timing of these allegations is notable, as the couple appeared to have married recently in 2025. The actress has maintained that she built her home independently before their relationship began, countering any suggestions that marital assets are involved in their disputes.

Law enforcement involvement indicates the seriousness of the allegations, though no official charges or court proceedings have been publicly confirmed at this time.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and the particular vulnerabilities faced by public figures in troubled relationships. The actress’s decision to make her situation public appears to be a plea for protection and support.

Neither Chibuzor Erifike nor his representatives have responded publicly to these allegations as of press time.
