Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralized 12 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during a series of coordinated operations in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Mafa, located in the Borno Central Senatorial District, is about 59.8 kilometers from Maiduguri, the state capital. The operation was carried out after actionable intelligence was provided by the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms of the Air Component Command. The ISR efforts offered real-time intelligence that enabled precision airstrikes and guided troop maneuvers on the ground.
According to military sources, the offensive successfully cleared terrorist enclaves in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza, locations previously identified as hotspots for insurgent activities.

During the raid, troops recovered eight AK-47 rifles, eight loaded magazines containing 7.62mm rounds of ammunition, as well as assorted drugs and medical supplies believed to have been used by the insurgents.
Military authorities praised the resilience and determination of the soldiers, noting that the renewed onslaught reflects the Armed Forces’ commitment to restoring peace in the region. The Theatre Command has been urged to sustain momentum in order to weaken the operational capacity of the terrorist groups further.
