The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the destruction of a major terrorist enclave used as a training ground in Bukar Meram, located on the southern flank of the Lake Chad region in Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) after credible intelligence revealed plans by terrorists to launch attacks on Marte and Monguno communities.
The targeted airstrikes reportedly neutralised several terrorists and destroyed critical logistics infrastructure, including supply vehicles, weapons storage sites, and makeshift shelters.
“Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that the strike effectively disrupted imminent threats posed to the communities of Marte and Monguno, reinforcing NAF’s proactive posture in safeguarding civilian populations and critical territories,” Ejodame stated.
He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and restoring lasting peace and security across the Northeast and beyond.
