Luis Diaz delivered in stoppage time to lift Bayern Munich to a dramatic 3-1 comeback victory over St Pauli at home on Saturday, helping the champions recover from Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Arsenal.
Having missed the Arsenal match due to suspension—Bayern’s first defeat in any competition this season—Diaz rose to meet a cross from Harry Kane, heading home in the third minute of added time to put Bayern ahead.

Nicolas Jackson struck four minutes later, sealing the win and ensuring Bayern avoided dropping points for only the second time in this Bundesliga campaign.
Before the break, Diaz had already made an impact by setting up Bayern’s equaliser, laying the groundwork for Raphael Guerreiro to score after Andreas Hountondji handed struggling Pauli a shock lead just six minutes into the contest.
RB Leipzig’s goalless draw at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Friday means Bayern will remain eight points clear at the top of the table after this round.
Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer praised the team’s determination, saying their “belief” kept them pushing.
“We kept going after we went behind and were unlucky to hit the post three times. The late goals were a relief” Neuer said.

Pauli arrived in Munich on the back of a club-record eight straight Bundesliga defeats but still struck early. Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich was pressured into losing the ball in midfield, and Hountondji muscled past Kim Min-jae before slipping a finish inside Manuel Neuer’s near post.
Bayern academy products Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof both struck the woodwork before Diaz produced an acrobatic assist for the leveller.
Recovering from his earlier error, Kim floated a long pass toward Diaz, who went down under pressure but still managed to nudge the ball toward Guerreiro, allowing him to fire in from close range.
Kane struck the post with 10 minutes left but later played a decisive role in Diaz’s late goal, lofting a ball toward the box for the Colombian to head in before Chelsea loanee Jackson added Bayern’s third with the final kick of the match.
In other fixtures, Heidenheim scored twice in stoppage time to earn a 2-1 comeback win away at Union Berlin, lifting themselves off the bottom of the standings.

Germany rising star Said El Mala delivered a late equaliser for promoted Cologne in a 1-1 draw away at Werder Bremen.
Hoffenheim climbed to fourth place after a comfortable 3-0 home victory over struggling Augsburg, who remain winless since early October.
Later on Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen host Borussia Dortmund and could move level with second-placed RB Leipzig if they secure a win.
