Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, the vibrant Nigerian content creator known to fans as Kiekie, becomes a beacon of perseverance in Nigeria’s digital entertainment scene as she reveals that her rise to fame took a grueling seven-year journey marked by unwavering dedication.

The 34-year-old mother of one shared her inspiring story on the TTM Show, hosted by Tobi Makinde, offering a candid glimpse into the challenges and triumphs that shaped her path to becoming one of Nigeria’s most celebrated digital influencers.

Reflecting on her beginnings, Kiekie described herself as a “late bloomer,” a statement that captures the patience and resilience that defined her early career. She began creating content in 2013, pouring her creativity into sketches and videos that, for years, flew under the radar.

It was seven years of me constantly doing what I love, she said, her voice tinged with pride. Despite the lack of immediate recognition, her passion for content creation remained unshaken, a testament to her belief in her craft.

To sustain herself during those lean years, Kiekie juggled multiple roles, including fashion styling, where she honed her creative instincts. Notably, she worked as a stylist for Nigerian music sensation Simi, a gig that showcased her versatility and kept her financially afloat while she built her brand. “I was funding what I love with the other jobs I was doing,” she explained, highlighting the hustle that underpinned her journey.

The turning point came in 2018 with her Fashion Shock Show, a project that catapulted her into the public eye. The show’s viral success marked Kiekie’s first major breakthrough, opening doors to lucrative influencing opportunities and cementing her presence in Nigeria’s competitive content creation scene. “My first viral content was the Fashion Shock Show that started in 2018,” she recalled. “I was getting some influencing gigs.”

By 2020, Kiekie’s persistence paid off as she finally claimed the spotlight she had been chasing for nearly a decade. “The moment I hit the spotlight, it just continued like that,” she said, describing the meteoric rise that followed.

Her unique blend of humor, relatability, and authenticity resonated with audiences, transforming her into a household name and a sought-after influencer.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Kiekie’s story is a powerful narrative of grit and determination. Her seven-year journey highlights the value of consistency and passion in the face of delayed success. Today, as one of Nigeria’s most influential content creators, she inspires countless others to embrace the long road to their dreams.
