Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his appreciation after receiving the prestigious Founder’s Sunhak Peace Prize during an official ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
Announcing the recognition via his official X page on Friday, Jonathan described the award as an honour not only to himself but also to Nigerians and Africans committed to peace and development.
“Hugely grateful for the Founder’s Sunhak Peace Prize that was presented to me today at an official ceremony in Seoul, South Korea,” he stated.
He dedicated the award to Nigerians and Africans striving for peace and progress.
“This honour belongs to every Nigerian who believes in the possibility of peace and to every African working for the progress and advancement of our continent,” he said.
Jonathan also congratulated other recipients of the award and acknowledged those who made the recognition possible.
“I congratulate other awardees and thank the co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the Sunhak Peace Prize Foundation, as well as my wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, for her love and support,” Jonathan added.
