Iyabo Ojo threatens legal action over alleged death wishes from Lizzy Anjorin

The long-standing feud between Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has taken a darker turn, with Ojo announcing plans to pursue legal action against her colleague over what she describes as persistent death wishes directed at her children and grandson.

The bitter rivalry between the two actresses, which has previously resulted in police involvement and court appearances, appears far from resolution. In a statement posted to her Instagram account Monday morning, Ojo, who is currently in Tanzania attending to her newborn grandson, revealed that her legal team has been documenting various posts made by Anjorin.

“I have seen different posts,” Ojo wrote, indicating that she plans to address the matter formally upon her return to Nigeria. “My legal team is taking note of all of them. When I return, I will be working with my team to attend to the battle ahead of me.”

The animosity between the two actresses has been well-documented within Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Anjorin, who has made no secret of her contempt for Ojo, has accused her colleague of orchestrating defamatory campaigns against her and her children through sponsored posts on social media platforms.

According to sources familiar with the dispute, Anjorin maintains that Ojo initiated the conflict and has repeatedly stated she has no intention of backing down. The situation has reportedly intensified with Anjorin allegedly invoking curses and expressing death wishes toward Ojo’s two children and grandson on multiple occasions.

The dispute represents one of the most acrimonious feuds in recent Nollywood history, with both actresses commanding significant followings on social media. Industry observers have expressed concern about the escalating nature of the conflict and its potential impact on the reputation of Nigeria’s film industry.

Legal experts suggest that if Ojo proceeds with court action, the case could center on claims of cyberbullying, defamation, and potentially criminal threats, depending on the specific content of the posts in question.

As of press time, Anjorin has not publicly responded to Ojo’s latest announcement. The matter is expected to develop further when Ojo returns to Nigeria in the coming days.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The escalating feud between Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has reached a critical point, with Ojo preparing legal action against Anjorin for allegedly making repeated death wishes against her, her children, and her grandson on social media.

What distinguishes this celebrity conflict from typical industry disputes is the severity of the allegations—involving threats against a minor and family members—which could potentially constitute criminal harassment beyond mere defamation.

As Ojo’s legal team documents evidence while she remains in Tanzania with her newborn grandson, this case underscores a growing concern about the boundaries of online feuds in Nigeria’s entertainment industry and whether social media platforms provide adequate protection against targeted harassment campaigns.
