A fire outbreak has damaged parts of an Access Bank branch in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident happened on Monday and was confirmed by the Kano State Fire Service on Tuesday.
The fire was reported at about 1:17pm after the state emergency response team received a distress call about a fire at the bank.
Firefighters from the Dawanau Fire Station were immediately sent to the scene.
When they arrived, they found that the fire had affected a one-storey building measuring about 100 feet by 80 feet, which houses the bank.
The fire mainly affected a Mikano generator and an electrical transformer within the bank premises.
The generator was badly affected by the fire, while the transformer suffered less damage.
The firefighters successfully put out the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the bank building.
No casualty was reported in the incident.
As of Tuesday, the cause of the fire was still unknown. Officials were investigating to determine what caused the outbreak.
