The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has announced the resumption of ministerial briefings aimed at updating Nigerians on the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at a ministerial briefing in Abuja, Idris explained that the initiative provides a platform for government ministers to present their scorecards to Nigerians and the international community.
“You may recall that we introduced this briefing series a year ago as a means for Federal Ministers to highlight their accomplishments to the Nigerian people and the world,” he stated.
According to him, President Tinubu is committed to transparent governance, and the ministerial briefings serve as a key communication tool to engage with the public.
“In 2024, we hosted 25 ministers, reaching millions across Nigeria and beyond through both traditional and digital media platforms,” Idris noted.
He further emphasized that the briefings not only help clarify government policies and programs but also combat misinformation and disinformation.
“Over the next three months, leading up to the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration, we will host ministers weekly to discuss their progress,” he added.
Idris described 2025 as a year of consolidation, during which the administration will build upon the successes achieved in its first 19 months.
“This first briefing of 2025 provides an opportunity to reflect on these gains and set the stage for continued progress as the administration reaches its mid-term mark,” the Minister concluded.
