The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to raising teaching standards in Nigerian schools by fostering a conducive learning environment and providing educators with essential tools for better learning outcomes.
Dr. Ronke Soyombo, the newly appointed Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), shared this assurance on Tuesday in Abuja during her assumption of office.
She highlighted that the TRCN would work closely with key stakeholders to roll out technology-based, student-focused initiatives designed to empower teachers and boost classroom performance.
“The Renewed Hope initiatives of President Bola Tinubu aim to deliver the highest standards of education by harnessing the potential of tech-savvy teachers,” she said.
Soyombo noted that TRCN’s efforts would prioritize the effective use of relevant technology to enhance learning and ensure that teachers are well-trained to manage classrooms efficiently.
She also stressed that the council would strive for inclusive participation by all teachers in its programmes and activities, leaving no one behind.
In addition, Soyombo mentioned plans to collaborate with teacher unions and service boards across states to fortify the teaching profession.
“We will enhance conditions of service for teachers with the goal of achieving quality service delivery,” she stated.
