Crystal Palace marked their first full venture into European football with a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
The match, played in Lublin, Poland, where Dynamo are staging their European home games due to the war in Ukraine, saw Colombian wing-back Daniel Muñoz open the scoring with a towering header in the first half.

Eddie Nketiah doubled the lead shortly before the hour mark, converting a cross from the impressive Yeremy Pino. The result extended Palace’s unbeaten streak to a club-record 19 matches.
Palace, however, finished the game with 10 men after Borna Sosa was shown two yellow cards in quick succession with 15 minutes left.

The Eagles earned their European place by defeating Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final. However, they were moved from the Europa League to the Conference League following a breach of UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules.
Until now, Palace’s only experience of continental competition was a single tie in the Intertoto Cup in 1998.

Among the favourites for this season’s Conference League title, Palace will host Cyprus’ AEK Larnaca on October 23, with further group games against AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands), Strasbourg (France), Shelbourne (Ireland), and KuPS (Finland).
