Sunday night’s live eviction of Big Brother Naija Season 11 show delivered another blow to the ‘Show Ya Sef’ house, as housemates Abi and Araga were shown the door, marking the latest chapter in a season that has already proven ruthless in whittling down its cast.

The double eviction, announced by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during the customary Sunday broadcast, comes barely a week after Gerard’s exit and continues a pattern of near-weekly departures that has defined this edition since its July 26 premiere.

For Abi in particular, the eviction marks a dramatic reversal of fortune. Housemates had earlier watched her rack up an unusually strong run in the house; she had won Head of House on two separate occasions and briefly held Most Influential Player of the Week status, a run of dominance that had made her one of the season’s standout strategists and repeatedly shielded her from the eviction block.

That immunity has now run out, and her exit will likely be read by viewers as one of the more surprising turns of the season given how firmly she appeared entrenched in the game.

Araga’s departure, by contrast, is less of a shock. He had featured on nomination lists in back-to-back weeks, surviving earlier rounds only for public votes to finally catch up with him this time out.

BBNAIJA SEASON 11

Sunday’s exits extend a list that already reads like a small roll call: Martins, Mercedes, and Kamsy were the first out of the gate, followed by Cassi, Sultex, and Goddessa, with Neche opting to walk away from the competition voluntarily over what organizers described as personal matters.

Gerard’s eviction the week before set the stage for Sunday’s double departure.

Compounding the week’s upheaval was Nomy’s disqualification, a development Big Brother Naija producers have not fully detailed but which, combined with Sunday’s evictions, has pulled the house down to just 14 remaining housemates.

The season has also had its share of twists beyond straightforward evictions. Nominations were nullified and re-run entirely in one week after housemates were accused of conspiring around the save process, a breach that briefly threw the nomination structure into chaos and left an unusually large bloc of contestants exposed to public voting at once.

Former “Gambits” Aikou and Flora, meanwhile, were controversially reinstated into the main competition after viewers voted to release them from their probationary status, a twist that added fresh competitors back into a field organizers were otherwise working to thin out.

With 14 housemates now left standing, ‘Show Ya Sef’ is tipping firmly into its business end.

The season launched on July 26, 2026, with 24 contestants chasing a ₦160 million grand prize, and the accelerating pace of exits, evictions, a voluntary walkout, and now a disqualification suggests producers are moving the show briskly toward its climax.

Attention now turns to who among the remaining housemates can consolidate power in the coming weeks and whether the volatility that has characterized the season—nullified nominations, reinstated Gambits, and surprise disqualifications—will settle down as the finale draws nearer or intensify further.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The ‘Show Ya Sef’ house is thinning out fast. Abi and Araga’s eviction, following Gerard’s exit and Nomy’s disqualification, has cut the field to 14 housemates.

The standout takeaway is Abi’s fall: a two-time Head of House winner who once looked like a frontrunner is now out, proof that no amount of early dominance guarantees safety as this season barrels toward its final stretch.
