Former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Labour Party Nigeria, Nenadi Esther Usman, has been elected as the substantive National Chairman of the party.
Usman emerged during the party’s 2026 elective national convention held in Umuahia on Tuesday.
Also elected was Acho Obioma, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency and Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Political Affairs. He assumes office as the party’s National Secretary.

Obioma replaces Darlington Nwokocha, who previously served as Secretary of the Caretaker Committee.
All members of the newly constituted National Working Committee were elected through a consensus arrangement, reflecting a unified front within the party leadership.
