The proposed March 27 and 28 national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may face uncertainty after a legal action was filed at the Federal High Court by an aspirant for the position of National Vice Chairman, South-South, Fubara Dagogo.

Dagogo asked the court to stop all activities related to the convention, claiming that he was excluded from the process.

The aspirant, who serves as the Director-General of the APC States Assembly Forum, said he was denied the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms even though he met all the required conditions.

According to him, he paid the mandatory N5.1 million required for the forms and also received official clearance from the party’s finance department.

However, he alleged that the party leadership failed to provide him with the nomination forms.

Dagogo said several attempts to obtain the forms in line with the provisions of the APC constitution were unsuccessful, which forced him to seek legal action.

In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/591/2026, the court was asked to interpret issues relating to the APC payment acknowledgement receipt No. 26827 dated March 13, 2026, and the party’s adjusted schedule for nationwide congresses and the national convention.

The suit also asked the court to interpret provisions of Section 20(1)(A) of the APC Constitution.

Those listed as defendants in the case include the All Progressives Congress, the party’s National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, the current National Vice Chairman (South-South) Victor Giadom, and the National Organising Secretary Suleiman Mohammed Argungu.

All the defendants, whose address is Buhari House, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, were given 30 days from the date they receive the summons to respond in court.

Among the requests made in the suit, Dagogo asked the court to issue a permanent injunction preventing the defendants from conducting the APC South-South zonal congress scheduled for March 25, 2026.

He also asked the court to declare that, based on the APC payment acknowledgement receipt issued to him, he is entitled to receive the expression of interest and nomination forms for the position.

The plaintiff further asked the court to declare any outcome of the APC congress for the office of National Vice Chairman, South-South as null and void if it is conducted without his participation.

He also demanded N100 million as general damages against the third and fourth defendants for what he described as embarrassment, discomfort, and mental torture.

As of the time this report was filed, the court had not fixed a date for the hearing of the case.
