The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a Nigerian woman, Nihinloluwa Agoro, and her two children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, in a fatal road accident in Fort Bend County.

In a statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the incident as heartbreaking and devastating, noting that the victims lost their lives during what was meant to be a routine trip.

“This sudden loss is painful and tragic for any family,” she said, while extending condolences to the grieving family.

She prayed for the repose of the deceased and comfort for those left behind, and also wished a quick recovery for others reportedly injured in the crash.

The NiDCOM boss further advised motorists to exercise caution on the roads to help prevent avoidable accidents. She added that the Commission stands in solidarity with Nigerians living in Texas and across the United States during this difficult period.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, as the victims were travelling to church.

What you should know

This tragic incident highlights the vulnerability of Nigerians living abroad and the importance of road safety, even during routine journeys.

NiDCOM often plays a role in supporting Nigerians in the diaspora during crises, offering condolences and assistance where necessary.

The accident has also drawn attention to the Nigerian community in Texas, reinforcing the need for collective support during times of grief and loss.
