President Bola Tinubu is preparing for the 2027 elections by ordering the recruitment of 25 canvassers in every polling unit nationwide.
This strategy is aimed at boosting support and ensuring strong voter turnout across the country.
In Ondo State, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), a grassroots group supporting Tinubu, said the canvasser plan could help secure between 800,000 and one million votes in the state.
The RHA group was recently inaugurated in Akure, the state capital, to strengthen links between the government and local communities, share accurate information on policies, and counter misinformation.
With over 3,000 polling units in Ondo, the plan is to have each canvasser mobilize at least five voters, creating a multiplying effect across the state. Officials explained that canvassers will be paid in advance and after the elections to ensure smooth operations.
The strategy aims to make vote counting transparent and reduce opportunities for manipulation.
RHA leaders also noted that Tinubu has focused on implementing policies quietly, with visible progress in governance and economic stability.
When he assumed office, the government was struggling financially, with deficits and delayed salaries at various levels.
Current measures have improved the situation, moving away from reactive governance toward planned, long-term solutions that address the country’s challenges systematically.
