Businesswoman Tracyniter Nicolas Ohiri has reversed her recent public apology to David Umahi, insisting that her earlier claims of a ₦200 million debt remain true.

In a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram page, Ohiri said her decision to apologise earlier was a “closed-door decision” that she now regrets, stressing that the allegations she initially raised were not fabricated.

Her latest statement comes only days after she released a video retracting her accusations of sexual harassment and contract-related debts involving the minister. At the time, the apology was widely interpreted as a withdrawal from the dispute.

However, Ohiri has now suggested that the earlier retraction was made under intense pressure rather than because the facts had changed.

Addressing supporters and activists who had rallied around her during the controversy, the businesswoman asked for forgiveness, acknowledging the disappointment her reversal had caused.

Umahi Sex Allegation

“To everyone I betrayed their hope, sacrifice, love, and passion for true comradeship, please forgive me,” she wrote.

She also specifically mentioned Omoyele Sowore and other activists who supported her during the initial confrontation with the minister at a police facility in Abuja.

According to Ohiri, many supporters had travelled from different states and made personal sacrifices to defend her during the dispute.

“No excuse is enough to justify my recent actions,” she admitted.

In the new statement, Ohiri also addressed the controversy surrounding money allegedly exchanged between her and the minister’s associates.

She clarified that the funds were not a bribe but payment for goods she claimed to have supplied more than a decade ago.

According to her, the ₦200 million involved relates to a business transaction from about 12 years ago.

Ohiri maintained that her story remains “100% legit and truthful,” despite the confusion created by her earlier retraction.

She also criticised what she described as attempts to discredit her, including the circulation of an old video of her dancing in a gym that she said was being used online to portray her negatively.

Reflecting on the wider situation, the businesswoman criticised Nigeria’s political environment, claiming that poverty is often used as a tool to pressure ordinary citizens.

“Nigeria is deeper than what you think you know on the socials,” she wrote, suggesting that economic hardship can push people to “succumb and dance to their tunes.”

She concluded by pledging to continue speaking out against oppression and corruption, describing herself as the “Commander Camp of the Raw Naked Truth.”

The development has revived public interest in the dispute involving David Umahi, who had previously denied all allegations against him and described them as part of a smear campaign.

With Ohiri now reaffirming her original claims, the controversy appears far from over, leaving observers uncertain about what legal or political steps could follow.

What you should know

The controversy between Tracyniter Ohiri and Works Minister David Umahi drew national attention after allegations of unpaid contract debts and sexual harassment surfaced online.

Umahi strongly denied the claims and insisted they were politically motivated.

Ohiri’s initial apology appeared to close the matter, but her latest statement retracting that apology has reopened the dispute and raised new questions about the circumstances surrounding the earlier retraction.
