The Ogun State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the reported sexual assault of a Nigerian TikTok content creator known as Mirabel (@mirab351), following intense public reaction and widespread discussions across social media platforms.

The case gained national attention after a video and emotional messages allegedly shared by the victim circulated online, triggering outrage and sparking debate among users on multiple digital platforms.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, told newsmen that once authorities became aware of the situation, the Commissioner of Police directed the Divisional Police Officer of Ibafo Division to promptly reach out to the victim.

According to the spokesperson, the victim subsequently presented herself at the Ibafo Police Station, where officers gathered initial details relating to the alleged incident. However, preliminary inquiries indicated that the reported assault took place within the jurisdiction of Ogijo.

He stated that the victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for examination and urgent care.

The police spokesperson further explained that because of the victim’s delicate physical and emotional state, she has been referred for more comprehensive medical attention to assist her recovery and to support the investigative process.

The Command reaffirmed its resolve to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of the victim and assured the public that thorough steps are being taken to identify and prosecute those responsible for the alleged crime.
