U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk will be barred from participating in space-related decision-making.

Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump addressed concerns about potential conflicts of interest linked to Musk’s role in cutting government spending. “So anything to do with possibly even space, we won’t let Elon partake in that,” he told reporters.

The White House clarified that Musk, who serves as a senior adviser to the president, will recuse himself from any conflicts involving his business interests and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). However, officials emphasized that Musk is not an employee of DOGE and has no direct decision-making authority.

Trump further stated that Musk could be considered either an “employee” or a “consultant” within the administration.
