Regina Daniels Undergoes Drug Test Amid Ongoing Controversy Over Substance Abuse Allegations

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly submitted to a drug test, nearly three months after allegations of substance abuse emerged during her highly publicized marital dispute with Senator Ned Nwoko.

In a video shared with her millions of Instagram followers, the 24-year-old actress appeared at an undisclosed medical facility, telling viewers, “Hi guys, so I’m here at the hospital; I’m about to run my drug test.” The brief clip marks the first concrete step by Daniels to address the accusations that have dominated Nigerian entertainment news since October 2025.

The controversy traces back to last October when Daniels made explosive allegations against her husband, Senator Nwoko, accusing the wealthy politician of domestic violence and abuse. The billionaire businessman, who is known for his polygamous lifestyle, swiftly denied the allegations and launched a counteroffensive, claiming he possessed medical records documenting the actress’s alleged substance abuse issues.

The dispute intensified when Laila Charani, another of Nwoko’s wives, entered the fray with her own damaging claims. Charani alleged that Daniels had introduced her to drugs, adding another layer to the already complex narrative surrounding the breakdown of the high-profile marriage.

In what became perhaps the most damaging development, a purported medical report from Serenity Royale Hospital circulated widely on Nigerian social media. The document allegedly showed toxic levels of multiple controlled substances in Daniels’ system, including marijuana, morphine, opiates, cocaine, and alcohol. The leak sparked intense public debate and threatened to irreparably damage the actress’s reputation.

However, Serenity Royale Hospital moved quickly to distance itself from the controversial document. In a formal statement, the medical facility categorically denied responsibility for the leak, stating, “We wish to state clearly that the publication containing classified information of Mrs. Nwoko Regina did not emanate from us and respectfully request the public to disregard the same.” The hospital’s denial raised questions about the authenticity of the circulating report and the possibility that it may have been fabricated or obtained through unauthorized means.

Daniels’ decision to undergo what appears to be an independent drug test could prove pivotal in the ongoing saga. By making the process public, the actress seems intent on reclaiming control of the narrative and addressing the allegations head-on, though she has not yet announced when or how the results will be shared.

The case has captivated Nigeria’s entertainment industry and beyond, touching on issues of celebrity privacy, domestic disputes, medical confidentiality, and the intersection of traditional polygamous arrangements with modern public scrutiny. As the situation continues to unfold, many await the test results that could potentially vindicate Daniels or substantiate the troubling allegations against her.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Regina Daniels has publicly undergone a drug test to address substance abuse allegations made by her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, during their October 2025 domestic dispute. While a leaked medical report allegedly showed multiple drugs in her system, the hospital named in the document denied releasing it and called it unauthorized.

Daniels’ voluntary, public test represents her attempt to clear her name amid a controversy that has also involved accusations from Nwoko’s other wife and raises serious questions about medical privacy, the authenticity of leaked documents, and the truth behind the competing claims in this high-profile marital breakdown.
