New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing serious allegations of physical assault from a former personal chef, according to a recently released police incident report that details a disturbing confrontation allegedly stemming from a salary dispute.
The woman, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, filed a report with police on December 16, recounting an incident she says occurred two weeks earlier on December 2. According to her account detailed in the narrative, what began as a discussion about unpaid wages in her bedroom quickly escalated into violence.
The chef claims she was working as Diggs’ private cook when the NFL player entered her unlocked bedroom to address an ongoing text message exchange regarding compensation she believed was owed to her. During this conversation, the woman alleges, Diggs became enraged and struck her across the face with an open hand.
When she attempted to defend herself by pushing him away, the report states, Diggs allegedly placed her in what she described as a chokehold, wrapping his arm around her neck from behind using “the crook of his elbow.” The woman told investigators she experienced difficulty breathing during the alleged assault and feared she “could have blacked out.” She claims that when she struggled to break free, Diggs tightened his grip further.
The confrontation allegedly concluded with Diggs throwing the woman onto her bed and making a dismissive comment described as “Thought so,” before the discussion returned briefly to the payment dispute. When the chef attempted to explain that she still hadn’t received her wages, Diggs allegedly responded with “Lies” and left the room.
According to the incident report, the woman began working for Diggs in July with an arrangement to continue through the 2025 NFL season. She claims the original agreement called for weekly payments, but this was later changed to a monthly payment schedule. At the time of the alleged December 2 incident, she states she had not received a full month’s compensation.
The woman told police she observed redness on her upper chest area following the alleged assault, but did not photograph the injuries. She also indicated to investigators that she was initially reluctant to come forward due to Diggs’ prominence as a member of the Patriots organization.
Through his attorney, David Meier, Diggs has categorically denied the allegations. In a statement released following the report’s publication, Meier characterized the claims as “unsubstantiated and uncorroborated and never investigated—because they did not occur.”
The statement goes on to suggest the timing and motivation behind the allegations are transparent, describing them as “the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction.”
“Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law,” Meier concluded.
The incident report’s release marks the beginning of what could be a lengthy legal process. It remains unclear whether criminal charges will be filed or if the matter will be resolved through civil litigation. The NFL has not yet commented on whether the league will conduct its own investigation under its personal conduct policy.
For Diggs, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection who joined the Patriots this season after stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills, the allegations represent a serious threat both to his reputation and potentially his career. The Patriots organization has not addressed the matter.
As both sides prepare for potential legal proceedings, the case underscores the complex dynamics that can exist between high-profile athletes and their personal staff, particularly when financial disputes arise. Whether the truth will be established definitively in court, as Diggs’s attorney promises, remains to be seen.
