Peter Obi Visits Obasanjo, Olubadan, Emphasizes Unity And Justice for Nigeria

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, on Sunday embarked on a courtesy visit to two prominent figures, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the newly installed Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.

He was accompanied by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and Segun Adebanjo.

Obi revealed details of the visit in a statement shared on his official Facebook page, explaining that both meetings focused on the current challenges confronting Nigeria and the urgent need for stronger efforts toward national cohesion. According to him, conversations with the elder statesman and the traditional ruler revolved around fostering fairness, justice, love, and unity across the country.

“In both visits, we were fortunate to discuss the state of our nation and how all of us can live in unity, love, fairness, and justice progressively together,” Obi noted in his statement.

The former Anambra State governor reiterated his long-standing view that Nigeria can only achieve sustainable progress when leaders and citizens alike embrace equity, compassion, and collective responsibility. He added that the engagements reinforced his optimism about the possibility of building a new and inclusive Nigeria with the right vision and dedicated leadership.

Obi further described his interactions with Obasanjo and Oba Ladoja as enriching, highlighting the wisdom of elder statesmen and the cultural significance of traditional institutions in guiding Nigeria toward peace and stability. He stressed that beyond political ambitions, what the country needs most is a common commitment to national development and harmony.
