The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Yiltwada, as the new National Chairman of the ruling party.

This appointment comes in the wake of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje’s resignation, which took place on June 27. Yiltwada is now set to take over the leadership responsibilities of the party’s national body.

The nomination of Professor Yiltwada was made by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who also serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF). His nomination was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas.

The decision was reached during the NEC meeting, which is currently being held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Yiltwada’s appointment signals the party’s intent to reposition itself as it continues to steer national affairs under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Professor Nentawe Yiltwada is not only a sitting Minister of Humanitarian Affairs but also a former gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State.

His appointment as APC National Chairman places him at the core of Nigeria’s political leadership, where he is expected to influence party direction and electoral strategies going forward.
