Grammy-nominated Nigerian rapper Olamide has once again demonstrated why he remains one of Africa’s most enduring musical forces with the release of his ambitious self-titled album today, marking more than a decade of consistent chart dominance.

The 17-track project, which dropped on June 19, 2025, reads like a who’s who of contemporary Afrobeats and international music, featuring an impressive roster of collaborators that spans continents.

OLAMIDE ALBUM LIST

Nigerian megastar Wizkid appears twice on the album, continuing a creative partnership that has flourished for over ten years. The project also showcases rising Afrobeats talents including Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and BOJ, alongside established stars Darkoo and producer-DJ SPINALL.

Perhaps most notably, the album bridges cultural divides with appearances from American hip-hop legend Dr. Dre, Jamaican dancehall icon Popcaan, and Latino artist Daecolm, reflecting Olamide’s growing international appeal and the global reach of Afrobeats music.

The album’s rollout has been methodical, with Olamide releasing two strategic singles ahead of the full project. The latest, “99,” features a powerhouse lineup of Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm, while the earlier single “Kai” showcased his enduring chemistry with Wizkid. These collaborations underscore Olamide’s ability to curate compelling musical conversations across generations and genres.

This self-titled effort represents Olamide’s 11th solo project, following 2023’s “Ikigai”—named after the Japanese concept meaning “a reason to live.” That previous album included standout tracks like “Metaverse,” “Habibi,” and “Uptown Disco,” the latter featuring frequent collaborators Asake and Fireboy DML.

Beyond his artistic achievements, Olamide has proven equally formidable as an industry executive. His YBNL Nation label has become a launching pad for some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, having nurtured talents including Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, and current Afrobeats sensation Asake.

This dual success as performer and tastemaker has cemented his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most influential musical figures of the 21st century.

The timing of this self-titled release appears particularly significant, coming at a moment when Afrobeats continues its global ascension and Olamide himself stands as both elder statesman and active participant in the genre’s evolution.

The album serves as both a celebration of his storied career and a statement of his continued relevance in an increasingly competitive landscape.

With streaming numbers and critical reception still emerging, early indicators suggest Olamide has once again delivered the kind of culturally resonant project that has defined his career—one that honors his roots while pushing the boundaries of what Nigerian music can achieve on the world stage.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Olamide’s self-titled 11th album represents a career-defining moment that showcases why he remains Nigeria’s most consistently successful artist-entrepreneur. The project’s star-studded international collaborations—from Dr. Dre to Wizkid—demonstrate Afrobeats’ global reach, while his decade-plus track record of discovering and developing talent through YBNL Nation proves his lasting impact extends far beyond his music.
