Users of X, formerly known as Twitter, are currently facing a major outage that has rendered both the website and mobile app inaccessible.

The disruption began around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, with outage tracker DownDetector.co.uk reporting a massive spike in user complaints—from just 66 to over 11,000 within minutes. Reports peaked at approximately 1:39 p.m., indicating the widespread nature of the issue.

This is the second major outage on the Elon Musk-owned platform in just a few days. On the evening of Thursday, May 22, a similar disruption impacted millions of users, affecting key platform features such as direct messages, login functionality, and general site accessibility on both mobile and desktop devices.

Users have taken to other social media platforms to express frustration, with many questioning the stability of the service under its new ownership.

X has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the repeated outages or a timeline for restoration.

What you should know
This marks the second time in three days that X has gone down, raising concerns about platform reliability. Elon Musk, who acquired the platform in 2022, has yet to publicly comment on the outages.
