President Donald Trump has ramped up his efforts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), labeling it as corrupt and unnecessary. In a bold statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump called for the agency’s closure, echoing previous claims that it mismanages funds. His administration has already halted foreign aid, recalled thousands of overseas employees, and plans to reduce USAID’s workforce from 10,000 to just 300.

Elon Musk, a top donor and influential ally, is playing a key role in this government downsizing initiative, offering buyouts to federal workers across agencies. The administration’s stance has sparked legal battles, with labor unions challenging the legality of these actions. Meanwhile, critics argue that dissolving USAID could diminish U.S. global influence, particularly in competition with China.

Despite concerns, Trump remains firm in his approach, also pushing for the closure of the Department of Education as part of his broader agenda to reshape federal operations.
