Nigeria’s Super Eagles sustained their dominant Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Monday with a resounding 4–0 triumph over Mozambique in Fes, a result that confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The performance underlined Nigeria’s growing confidence and attacking sharpness as the competition moves into its decisive stages.

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Ademola Lookman found space at the edge of the area and unleashed a fierce effort that beat goalkeeper Hernâni Siluane, giving Nigeria a deserved lead.
The Super Eagles quickly built on that momentum, and just five minutes later Victor Osimhen doubled the advantage. Alex Iwobi initiated the move, releasing Lookman, whose well-measured delivery allowed Osimhen to finish comfortably from close range.
Nigeria resumed after the interval with the same intensity and purpose. Barely two minutes into the second half, Osimhen struck again, completing his brace by calmly converting from inside the box after a clever exchange with Lookman.

The goal effectively ended any hopes of a Mozambican comeback and further highlighted the telepathic understanding within Nigeria’s attacking unit.
The Super Eagles continued to press high and dominate possession, forcing Mozambique deep into their own half. Their superiority was reflected again in the 75th minute when Adams produced a clinical finish to make it four, putting the outcome beyond doubt.
Despite occasional saves from Siluane and his replacement Urrubal, Mozambique’s defence was under constant strain and struggled to cope with Nigeria’s pace and movement.

Mozambique offered little going forward, finding it difficult to carve out meaningful chances against a disciplined and well-organised Nigerian side.
Coach Eric Chelle introduced changes in the latter stages as his team searched for some form of consolation, but Nigeria’s attacking rhythm and control of the game remained intact until the final whistle.
