Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has sacked six of his political appointees and suspended one other official.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Samuel Jatau.

Jatau explained that the decision was part of the state government’s efforts to reposition the administration for greater efficiency and improved service delivery.

Those affected by the decision include Timothy Golu, the Special Adviser to the governor on Strategic Communication, and Fom Gwottson, the Liaison Officer for Jos South.

Others are Nanbol Rimvyat and Nannim Langyi, who served as Liaison Officers for Langtang North.

Also affected are Paul Datugum and Nimchat Rims, the Liaison Officers for Qua’an Pan and Langtang South respectively.

In addition, the governor suspended Johnbull Shekarau, the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, over conduct said to be inconsistent with the standards required of his office.

The Secretary to the State Government directed all affected officials to hand over government properties in their possession to the appropriate authorities.

Jatau added that Governor Mutfwang appreciated the contributions of the affected appointees to his administration and wished them success in their future endeavours.
